columbian or surinam you be the judge

I got this pair from some one out of the paper for $400, they came with a 4' x 2' x 2' glass cage and stand. The female im sure is a suri but the male i think is a columbian. Any help will be great. thanks Nick

Well according to doral saddle counts it's BCC, not BCI. BCI is 21 saddles or more. That snake has 13, maybe 14. Not all suris are as nice as your female. It may very well be a cross between two different BCCs too. It could be a cross of a guyana and a suri. Regardless of what type of BCC it is, I'm of the opinion that it's deffinately BCC.

I've seen a lot of suri's looking just like that male, without any widows peaks. It irritates some owners, because some people think all surinam's have the widows peaks.

As boidkeeper said the saddle count definitely points too BCC, so I'd say it could be a Suri, the looks can vary greatly,

What ARE the widow's peaks? Hear the term a lot but I havn't ever grasped the meaning yet.

See how the saddles in the first one pictured look kinda like little batman logos. Those points are the widows peaks.

Trevor, every single one of my Colombian BCI have much less than 21 dorsal markings. If you're going on the Jeff Ronne mantra that all Colombian boas are BCC, then yes, those boas are BCC.

I don't beleive all Colombians are BCC. I beleive that there are Colombian BCI and Colombian BCC and a lot of crosses.
