Hello

Yust as Info:

There are two subspiecies of Cerastes cerstes i.e. Cerastes cerastes cerastes and Cerastes cerastes hoofieni. The latter was described in 1999 by Werner et al. and comes from the south-western Arabian Peninsula. All subspiecies that have been described before were revised and put into synonymy.
There are also Cerastes vipera(the eyes are placed more dorsally and they never bear horns) and Cerastes gasperettii also with two subspecies: C.g. gasperettii and C.g. mendelssohni(later is endemic to the Arava valley and has been described by Werner et al. in 1999, too)

kind regards

Maik
