Here's a pic of our nearly 8 foot Irian Jaya named Oprah. She is still on the skinny side as she laid eggs about a month ago and has only had about 5 meals since. She should weigh somewhere around 5000-5500 grams when she's back up to par.
She is quite possibly the largest IJ in the USA. She's the largest I have ever heard of second to Karel Bergmann's female IJ in CAN.
Hope ya like!

I want to get my jungle on here but parentals wont loosen up on the digi cam.......jeez

has anyone ever bred a coastal 100% with a 100% jungle before? I want to breed my girl but it is hard to find her a jungle around here..........anyone got pics of a jungle X coastal?

An 8' or bigger IJ would have to be a coastal cross, or have SOME coastal bloodlines. I just can't believe they would get to 8' naturally... then again, I've seen plenty of freakshows in the snake world. :)

Invictus,
This big female actually was a WC import and she has produced quite typical looking IJs for many years. Size means nothing as a gauge for purity or lineage. Especially when you take into account how a snake is taken care of in captivity compared to being grown in the wild. There will ALWAYS be anomalies in every species. I have seen quite a few pure boid species that showed extremes in size...from Hog Island Boas to Jungles to Scrubs. Just look at Andre' the Giant!

I used to own a Coastal X Jungle & she just looked like a big ugly jungle as did her siblings. Not a desirable cross IMHO & the babies are worth squat because of it. My 2 cents Mark

I'll get one more,

http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/507/1371Citron_10a.jpg

This is Citron he is 11 1/2 years old, and 7-7.5 feet long
a large male. An F1 VPI stock and still a looker.
I would love to match him up with Karel or Yasser females.

Awesome snakes Mardy. Are those at your store? How far away is your store from Orleans? I wouldn't mind checking it out, you have so many nice animals. Jaguars, massive carpets, you got it all!
