heyeveryone if u dont already know heres your chance. i just picked up a 2.5 year old Rhino Iguana last friday. since all my herps are named after famous people i decided to go with that trend and named her Ziggy. you know like as in Ziggy Stardust. if anyone knows who that is. but ill be sure to post some pics asap. as soon as i get some new batteries for my camera.

your right about that one. i have a question though. any suggestions on house breaking them? i let Ziggy freerange but cleaning up isnt fun:P

Yes, there is a way to "train" your iggy to be somewhat potty trained. This method worked for me rather quickly, less than 3 days!!

1st, notice around what time of the day your ig has been going.

Start giving him baths at that time each day, fill with about 2-3" of warm water and let him wade in it until he goes. Igs often go when they're in water so it shouldn't take very long, mine does it on contact now sometimes even before while being lowered into the tub!!!

It shouldn't be long for your ig to start a pooping routine. After you have him going for a few days, you can change the area and medium with a bit of time.

I have a kitty litter pan set up in my ig's enclosure with water and she uses that as her potty now. The switch was done very easily and she basically took to it herself when she needs to go.

I am in the process of switching her from going in water to on paper by lowering the level of water in her pan and soon replacing it altogether with newspaper.
