Here are a couple more new pics, bothrops are one of my favorite and exciting species to work with. Other than their famous unpredictable behaviour, they are quite amazing animals to work with.

Bothrops asper (Trinidad), one of the junveniles, he is about 1.5 feet long and just as nippy as the big ones.

This is another bothrops neuwiedi diporus, she is about 4 feet long:

Another interesting species, bothrops colombiensis; she is huge & around 5.5 feet long. The status of this species is still uncertain. Herpetologists conspecific this species with bothrops atrox and some still list this as synonym of bothrops atrox.

These are very interesting species to work, will post some more pics later as they don't like flash a lot. Like to hear some experience from you guys...

Enjoyed your bothrops pics. Defintely one of my favourite genera. I've been keeping them for many years, have kept atrox, asper alternatus, neuwiedi ,isabelae, and colombiensis. I have a long term breeding colony of Bothrops alternatus, they are defintely one of my favourites. I was especially impressed with the pic of your B. neuwiedi diporus, beautiful snake, never seen one with so much red. Bothrops are dangerous snakes but amazing to keep if you know what you're doing. Damm...verry nice! Those are some verry nice animals!

That neuwiedi is really apart! I am taking care of 1 male Bothrops diporus, he is bicolored: only gray and black. Verry agressive and jumpy animal...totally nuts!!!

I also take care of 1.1 B alternatus, 1 male Bothrops atrox and several B asper. They are always a challenge to work with!!!

I only have 1.1 Bothrops asper (Costa Rica). Eating a lot and growing fast! I have had them for 9 months now..the female has grown to about 1- 1.2 m !!!

And I also have 2.2 Porthidium ophryomegas (female is probably gravid!!!! :D ) and these little guys are certainly as hot tempered as the Bothrops species I work with :p

Hope you post some more pics soon!!!!

Cheers,

Erik
