No pooh

Ok, I have had Memphis (baby corn) for a month now, and have fed him 4 times. He has shed once, but he has not poohed yet. I asked the reptile man at the pet store if that was normal or what I could do, and he said it really wasn't too much to worry about. He said it might be due to a shed cycle, or temps. Well, he shed, and the temps have been consistent (83 on the warm side and 73 on the cool side (he almost always stays to the cool side)). But still no pooh. Following the suggestion of the pet store I put him in some warm water to stimulate the process, but no luck and no pooh! So, is this something I need to be concerned about? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Are you sure that there is no poop?

Cause it might be too small for you to notice. Do you still see a lump in the snake after 3 days (or so) you feed it?

What kind of substrate are you using? It might be covering the poop. If you use paper towel this time you feed it, you might notice the poop a lot more.

But if you're 100% certain that it hasn't pooped then yes, it is a problem. Contapation. Not a good thing. You might want to add some grapefruit extract in the water to help the stomach rebuild some of the acids inside thus helping with the digestion.

But really if it has eaten 4 meals and shed properly then I think that its just you that missed the poop and not that it hasn't.

2nd above. i keep all my snakes, especially the babies on papertowels. Easier to maintain & monitor. Never miss a poop (or an uneaten or regurged p-mouse DOH) on PT but you'll miss lots when using shavings especially for baby ones. Also when feeding on PT you have no worries about the snake eating any substrate while feeding. No impaction worries therefore safer. Mark
