Heater?

What do people think the best things are for heating. I work at a pet store and I would like to know what everyone else thinks is good. I don't like heat rocks but I need to see what else is out there.

I mean anything. Like ball pythons, geckos, corns, boas, uromastyx, beardeds. Whatever you may see in a pet store.

No, I want to know what type of heating do you like. Pads, lights, or other things. I want to know what i should get to help set up this reptile section of the store i work in. I mean I use under tank heat pads, but what types of lights do yall like. I need to have stuff for everything, its just good for the store.

Its different for every animal (species). Ask a specific question. Its not really fair to people to just say "tell me everything on how to keep everything" when very good books and a few good caresheets out there exist.

Specific questions like, "I know the ideal temp range of a Leopard Gecko is bla bla bla, so how do I best do this in a room that is 65F ambient with a 20 gallon aquarium?".

THAT is a specific question that will get you LOTS of good answers from very knowledgable people. Asking how to keep a bunch of different things isn't really going to get you anywhere. At least it hasn't so far. Pick up a book and read. Its all there. We didn't just make up all this information on the top of our heads. We read too. And trial and error. And good discussions here. But to get a good discussion here, you need a reference point. And to get that reference point, you should pick up a few books/magazines.

Well, for BP's specifically, heat tape, but that's just me. There are many ways to heat reptiles. I'm with Jeff, read a book, or two or a hundred and seventy six...

for leo's i just use an UTH with a florescent bulb for viewing during the day

I use this site for my own reptiles, i just like to see what other people use. I plan to become a herpetologist and so I do know about reptiles. But i dont know about retail stuff cuz this is only a summer job. I figured it would be better for the animals i order, to know what is best for them.

Maybe if you tell us what animals are most likely going to be ordered then you would get some specific answers/opinions on the topic at hand.:D

In the case of leos, I've tried just about everything. Mine have thier own "closet" space in our reptile room(rack sysytem) which is kept at an ambient temp of around 83-85 dgrs. When extra heat is required I like UTH. Heat tape is also a great heat source in any rack system.

In simple terms, different animals have different requirements, and thus different methods of heating. If you have specific reptile species you are looking for information on, I would be more then happy to help.
