Ill try to get a more clear picture if needed for the identification..
thanks!
my friend gave me her aquatic snails because they wouldn't stop reproducing. i raise them and feed them to my turtles. i just put them in a little kritter keeper with water and let the alqae grow in it. be sure where you keep them isn't too hot, the first time i had snails they all died cause i had them in my herp room which is usually 90 degrees and above. but sence theyv been in my room theyv laid eggs and the eggs have hatched.

but this isnt an aquatic snail, is it?? I really dont think it is...and how would i make the algae grow if thats still what i need..how to you breed them too..i would love to breed them for my sav..
Snails are really easy to breed.. just need two as they have both male and female parts.. I've got aquatic snails, zebra danios (fish), and firebelly toads in a 10 gallon tank and the only thing I do is change the water every 2-3 months and feed the fish daily.. btwn the fish and toad wastes, the algae and the left over fish food the snails are almost taking over the tank.. I have to cull them every 3 months or they'd take over.

So if i put it in a 5 gallon tank filled with water, it will be fine with two of them?!?

No... It's not an aquatic snail, so it won't live in water. I used to keep snails. They'll eat cucumber, lettuce, celery and a bunch of other foods. They love beans :). Just keep him in a humid container with dirt, some leaves, and a stick (they will sometimes eat the bark for some reason) And if you want him to do well, give him some crushed eggshell or calcium powder. They crunch on it and it's neat to watch. They'll also love drinking beer from your fingers, but I wouldn't give them much... it is a way to kill them after all.
Kind of a cutie for a snail. :)

lol thank you!
Figured id keep him/her...felt bad, couldnt kill him..to young..lets see how long i can keep him
I agree with Tammy. I've seen them around here in fields and such. I remember seeing swarms of them near Christie and Dupont in Toronto. Sorry, I'm not sure as to which species it is.
Keep it on damp peat moss or the like. Spray it down so that they can drink water droplets off of the side of it's enclosure. I would give it some cuttle fish bone along with greens.
If you do decide to feed it off, make sure to feed it for a couple of days at least to allow it to clean out it's gut. Not sure if they carry any parasites.
It's a cutie, good luck with it :)

I've only ever kept aquatic snails but I ALWAYS find tons of little snails around our dandelions. Heh... we never get rid of weeds... but yeah, I'm assuming that they'll eat dandelion greens, considering that they devour mine?
