OK I got a 53 gram female leo gecko on tuesday. She was really stressed and today was the first day she ate...only 2 crickets...well i picked her up after she ate and noticed she had skin left on her toes. I misted her and pulled the skin off. Then i was still holding her and she defecated. luckily it fell right on a paper towel. She had another pile of it in her cage that was pure white and the one she just had was in the shape of a terd but it was green and wet with spots of white....what could be the prob...PLEASE REPLY

if your concerned take the sample to the vets for a fecal, it should be less than 24 hours old and not of been refridgerated for an appropriate reading. You can go from there.

good luck!

Nothing about her defication seems irregular to me. Often they will do this when stressed if you pick them up. Babies pee on me constantly. The coloration seem fine. I would only be truly concerned if there is a foul odor. No need to sniff it though:D, you'd notice it from a distance!:D:D (I had to add that, as some would actually smell it)

So green is your geckos regular poo colour? Because that is almost definatly parasites. That is not a good colour and you should take it to the vet ASAP!!!

Under stress (ie.shipping/new environment/change in diet, etc.) a geckos feces will often be miscolored as they have little in thier bowels. When concerned, or when you receive geckos from an unknown source, then yes a fecal is beneficial, especially if you have other leos. In all my years of breeding I cannot say that the color of the feces has ever indicated parasites.

Mine have had "uh-oh's" on me, too - especially when they feel stressed, like if I'm trying to hold them a bit still to check out something specific.

But I agree w/everyone else - a fecal would be a good idea, they're not very expensive, and might give you an idea of what's going on.
