View Full Version : egg help needed
Hey, i have a quick question for the pros. At what stage should i see growth in the eggs? I have had an egg incubating at about 81 degrees (lots of fluctuation unfortunately). The egg seems okay but hasn't really grown i don't think. The other egg in the clutch molded up and died. The egg i've still got going has a little bit of mold, but its more of a blue colouring on the egg. The shape is unchanged. I am on day 25. If it were a slug it would have shriveled up or something by now right? Thanks
Geoff

A fertile egg usually begins to swell about 7-15 days before hatching. It should be firm, white or light cream and you will probably notice it becoming darker as it swells. Basically the leo inside begins to "outgrow" the egg and there is little room left so the egg gets darker. You still have at least 25 more days to go, probably more at the lower incubation temp. But, be patient, it sounds fertile to me.:D
