Just a quick question from a prospective new carpet keeper.

What are the differences (physically speaking) between jungle and coastal hatchlings?

I have the oportunity to aqquire a lovely looking baby "carpet python", but the parentage is an unknown.

Basically, for my own peice of mind, how do i know from a visual inspection that the (lovely) critter is a jungle and not a coastal (potential size of the adult is something of an issue).

Thanks

As hatchlings.. jungles and coatlas look very simillar.. U could use pattern although .. theres so much variations in patern in jungles and in coastals that this will defenetly no tell u what u have.. the only real way of knowing with some certainty .. would be to do some scale count.. Ouch on babies..

My guess if there are no lineage to the parents.. its an intraspecific hybrid .. as to what locals who knows! ..

Crosses are worth from zilch to non.. personally .. unless i saw teh parents of the snake I would not buy it ..

Just my 2 cents
