He never said that the scorpion was captive bred. It could have, and most likely was pregnant before he obtained it. This usually happens either before or during importation, as most adult female emps that are sold are already gravid.

They are captive bred. Had her for about a year as a young female. So no already prego's, would be nice but luck never went that way for me.
