hello yall

I am finally getting to purchasing this bearded dragon and i just bought one off those Powersun UV lights. In the directions for this thing it says to keep the pet at least 12 inches aways but at that distance my temp was only like 85 degrees. Would closer(higher) be alright? if not i won't get the 100 degrees temp I need.
I was also going to try maybe a rock instead of the driftwood that I am using, thinking it might hold the heat and raise the temp

how much Watts this bulb has? powersun need to have 160Watts.
I have heard of problem with too less UVs/temps with the 100Watts one.
you can put it as close you need but be SURE that your bearded wont be able to touch it.
Powersun are Mecury Vapor bulb and get hell hot...

The bulb that they sold me was 100 Watts. I just figured that it was correct. They didn't have 160 watt ones that I saw.

Should I be concerned about the high levels of UV rays around the kids? This tank is set up in the living room. The reason that I ask is because I read someone elses concerns on the subject.

I have sent Zoo Med an email asking them a few of these questions as well.

Thanks for your help on this. I just hope that the pet store doesn't give me a hard time when I try to return this $90 bulb. I may have to have them order me the 160 watt bulb

Thanks again!!
Glenn

Yet another delema

As I said I am getting the 160 watt Power Sun bulb. My problem is that the fixture that I have is rated for 150 watts. The pet store is trying to sell me this cage type fixture but I am not sold on the idea. It isn't enclosed at all really.
Is anyone aware of a fixture that will sit on the top of the screen which will take over 150 watt bulbs?

Thanks
Glenn
