Well, my husband asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day... he wanted to get me diamond earrings... however, I told him I'd rather have a snake.
So, we ordered a BRB, and I've had him for a little over a week. He's a TINY little thing, the breeder said he's about 3 months old, and he's (I'm guessing) about 16-18" (awwww!)
I let him go for about a week, then offered him a small-hopper (live, because that's what they were feeding him) in a separate container, because I don't want to feed in his enclosure. He ignored the hopper, and I had to feed it to another of my snakes. Last night, I tried thawing a small frozen hopper, and dangling it right in front of him, IN his enclosure (thinking he'd be more comfortable there). He seemed interested (and even bit HIMSELF), but... NOPE- didn't eat it. I ended up feeding that one to another one of my snakes. How big of prey should I be offering, and when should I start to worry? With my B.P.'s, I know they can go for a fairly large amount of time without eating, but this BRB is so small!
Set up: Fairly large rubbermaid container, with plenty of hides. Dow rods for climbing, and some fake greenery. Warm side, 82-83 degrees, cool side 70's. Humidity is "HI" - which is what my thermometer/hygrometer reads after getting above 80%.
Oh, and when I've tried to feed, all lights were out, except a red one, so I could see what was going on.
Any suggestions? And sorry this is so long.
I'll post some pics, as soon as I learn how! :p
