View Full Version : Do you house adults together?
I have 1.1 of these awsome little guys, they are subadult- adult and live in a 38g tank on its side and have lots of tall plants, logs and food. Is it ok to house them together, they seem to get along fine. If not then how many animals to a cage that size, just one?
Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff, if you feed generously, and there is no stress on your groups, you can house 1.2 max. in the enclosure size that you have. I wouldn't hold any more than that, unless you upsize the size of the cage.
I have 1.4 or 1.5 in each colony, 8 colonies, and they are all fine, no stress, and never are taken out. They do quite well.

Just make sure that you don't have an adult male and a subadult female together. You don't want a female to get bred too early.

My adult Crested are in pairs, I enjoy watching them together, I think they create a bond between each other.
