View Full Version : good temps?
would you say that 95-98 for the hot side and 70-75 for the cool side are good temps? These will be the temps 24 hrs/day and i will have a florescent on, which doesn't produce any heat to get excited about, when i want to view him. So would you say these are good temps or what would you recommend?
Thanks in advance.

Way too hot if you've got the temps over 90 F. The warm side can range from around 85-90F, average (mostly called "ideal") would be 88 F. The cool side during the day would be great around 80 (or about 8-10 degrees cooler than the warm spot). Night temps can go down to what you have as your cool side temps - as low as 70-72, though I've had the lows slip down to 68 in winter for a few weeks and noticed no problem. It could be that they've slowed down for a rest anyways so the extra cool didn't bother them, but in summer I wouldn't let it cool below 70.
If they're in a room where the temperature is comfy for you, why not turn the heat off over night? It'll sure save you a ton of $, specially now with the electricity rate increase :) Using a UTH is even more economical, the increased cost of the UTH itself will pay for itself in no time.
thanks dragon drop, that's all i am using right now is an UTH, as for the temps i will get them lowered and watch them for a few days and then put the leo in there
