View Full Version : Baird's Ratsnakes *pics*
These are absolutely stunning animals, and possibly my favourite in North American ratsnakes. I had a pair of these beautiful ratsnakes, but when we moved (BC to SK), the male unfortunately kicked off and I am left with this beautiful female I purchased from Dean Goudie. I see there is a pair for sale in the classifieds and I would just LOVE to have them.
Anyhow, here's some pics of my gorgeous female. Excuse the strange colour on the first pic.

They don't seem to be too common in Canada, which is a shame, as they are magnificent snakes. They start off as dull grey babies, but turn into pewter grey snakes with tons of colour on the belly and in the interstitial skin. If you look on the neck you can see the juvenile blotches still present.

Simon, I purchased this li'l gal last year. Plus downsizing never works. I tried that at TARAS and came home with more snakes than I sold. Argh!!!!

Lol! It's an addiction, for sure. Awesome little girl. Can't say I love the colour but the head shape is really neat! So far today I've seen two snakes I'd never seen before and they're both yours. :D

Lovely girl Katt - best of luck in finding a mate for her - they are a very nice species - she seems to have a lot of red in her,

VERY nice. Hey Katt, as you know we have similar taste in snakes. I've got a pair of Bairdi thai I got as neonates last fall and they are growing like weeds. Their color change is really showing now, the malke is more yellowish while the female has the more copper/orange colouration. Both are fun and inquisitive with lots of personality. It's too bad you live so far away. I'd love to see your collection. By the way, my male Janni still hasn't eaten this year. I've tried everything I can think of with no success (I didn't try breeing this year as the female is just getting up to size). How is yours doing? Any tips on getting him started again?
Katt,
LOL....yeah I know how that feels....
downsizing....never works....but with the up coming plans that I have....it better work for me....or else I'll be in big trouble shipping them all to Asia....lol...
Good luck with your pair!
Hope to see some breeding and eggs soon ~~ (hopefully before I leave)

Nice, Katt! They certainly do colour-up as they grow, don't they?
