Hi all
We got a 4 little surprises when we looked upon our female hedge hog on May 14th.. the babies are hard to see as the mother was doing her best to keep her babies safe and outta sight from us.
If you look in the top left hand corner of her house you can see the little pink pin cusion..LOL

aww, so cute. I used to breed hedgies too. I stoped when my bella (first and last female) passed away. She was my angel! But I could never handle the babies before 2 weeks of age or the mother would kill them, what is your secret?!
Eventually I want to get another hedgie but I know I wont find any like my belly again. She NEVER bit, never popped, and never curled, she loved to be out and get attention, out of my 4 hedgies she was the only one. Well, take care and good luck with the little pin cushions.
Wow, those look cute, great pics.

they are hedgehog, not porcupines, big difference. :) Mainly the quils :)

Are they born with soft quills? I'm thinking more about the comfort of the mother.....
I've never seen baby hedghogs before, thanks for sharing the pictures.

Yes actually the spines are white and soft. Wouldn't want to imagine what it would be like for the mother if they were hard..lol

I really don't know if they're ugly or cute :)

Their spines are still soft not hard like their parents yet. But i noticed when they curl up they look like little bull dogs or pugs they have lots of little folds on their faces. In the last pic it looks to me like he is smiling and waving at the camera..lol
Thanks for looking

ah how sweet!! Here is a site I made a few years ago. It hasn't been updated in a couple years and there are a few grammer errors I notice now but I can't find my account info to get back in and geocities is such a pain in the butt.lol. Anyway, I used to breed hedgies but this site was dedicated to my first, and last hedgie Bella. She was a very special pet to me and my daughter, don't think I will ever find another hedgie like her. :( Anyone is welcome to check it out and there is a care sheet on it, although it is a couple years outdated I think it is pretty basic requirements. Have fun looking and feel free to leave a message in Bella's memorial guestbook. :) Funny, I lost her a few years ago and I still miss that little girl.

Sorry if it is hard to get in as well, geocities restricts the amount of hits the pages get. Thank god for ssnakess hosting!! ;)
