First ball eggs of the year!

My first poss het albino eggs were waiting for me after work tonight. She went 4 days early too.
It's nice to have a female that I raised for over a year to come full circle. The other female that should lay anytime I raised from a hatchling. Now I just hope they all hatch!
I think the top one is a slug though,

1st egg is a dud, yes. Others look good. Go candle them, then come back and tell us what you see.

Ball Pythons suck yes, but they are LOW maintenance and the time and energy it takes to care for 10 of them, is basically the same as caring for 50.

The eating thing IS annoying but I like them. I've got almost 20 of them and by this time next year, I should have 40 or so! :D

Boidkeeper I know what you mean about raising them up from hatchling size! It sure was nice to see my first snake ever that I got at 7 inches long, father his first clutch last year.

I am equally excited about my ball pythons as I have raised them all from a very young age. Good luck with those eggs, and with the babies!!! :)

Well I'm almost 100% sure that they are all slugs. I candled them and I can't see a thing. I think they are starting to turn to. Oh well hopefully the next clutch I'm waiting on will be better.

I was afraid of that, and thats why I didn't congratulate you when you posted...they looked like slugs to me but I couldn't find the strength to ruin your week. Good fertile eggs should be bigger, fuller and have a more white chalky coloration, well you know, like corn eggs but King sized.
Better luck with the next batch...
Got to get the males colder next year...dump those winter hot spots

Thanks Roy. The male I used came to us late in the season and who knows if he had been cooled or not. I cooled him for a bite while he was here but aparently not enough. Oh well next year my two hets from Don will be ready and we'll have an adult pastel to work with too so things will improve.
