hi all the thing is my little boy (i think) just cant seam to catch is food very well ive tryed hand feeding him but he wont take it ( his stubon like me) he likes to catch them on his own but he just misses all the time and ends up with a mouth full of sand i end up sitting there for at least 10 for each cricked trying to get the cricket to go to him and then he misses it so i got to start all over again thats another thing is it normal that he wont charge at me to get his food i currently have two. two brothers in difftrent tanks both with the same set up and temps but for some reason the 1 will eat like theres no 2 morow and i end up giving him about 5-7 in the morning and the same at night but his brother some days he will have 3 then wont eat no more then 2 in the nightthen a few days l8er he will eat about 5 but i dont know what to do hes starting to worry me know

if its any help there both around 8-9 weeks dont know true age forgot to ask but going back to find out soon

any help will be very helpfull

by liitle i assume you mean baby, so you should not have him in sand first off, it can cause impaction put him on some outdoor carpet or paper towel until he is at least 8 months old, and about the cricket problem i would just put in more than what he will eat so their is crickets everywhere and take the uneaten ones out in twenty minutes or so

yeh hes a baby about 9-10 weeks old i didnt know that about the sand thanks for leting me know and thats a good idea with the crickets im gonna by him a smaller tank and with out anything in it in side the tank hes in to keep the heat and where its smaller there will b less places for the crickes to run and hide is that ok to do to get him eating well and catching his own hen when hes stable eating well on his own then start feeding him in his big tank ???

alot of people would argue it is good to keep a beardie in a smaller tank when he is little, im no expert or anything but both of the babies ive ever bought went straight in to the 75 gallon with no problem. in your case im sure it would help, just make sure their is a place in the smaller tank where he can cool down if need be. And ill stress it again take the sand out ASAP

yeah sand is bad at that age.
put them on paper towel.
about crix, you could buy a 10-20 gallon Rubbermaid and put him in, and trow some crix.
once he have done, just move him back to the tank.

Yes, I was warned to NOT keep them in sand at all, keep them on paper towell and in a 20 gallon tank, so they can catch thier food. Mine is doing well.
