Just got a new emerald last night and had to share. He's an adult male suriname. I took him out for a few minutes to clean the packaging materials out of his cage and he's quite tame.

I also took out his (future) girlfriend who, incidentaly, decided not to be tame today (though she is normally fine). And I got it on camera (accidentaly, no less)

Didn't hurt much and though it bled heavily, the flow stopped quickly. I must say, though, that I'm glad the little girl did and not the big boy!

Sorry about all the pics, but I was excited (about the new snake, and the bite :D)

nice snakes! are they both CBB and where did you get them? I think your male is gonna be interested alot sooner than the female will be ready.......good excuse to get another, older female!

That's surinam ETB's for ya. Nasty. Sell those and get basin's.

lol! i wish i had the $$ for another girl :X. The male is CBB but was imported. The female is CBB too (Mike Vince).

Actually, the one that bit me was guyanese. Surinams are supposed to be considerably calmer than the guyanas, though even my guyana is pretty decent most of the time. Even if I wanted to sell these two, I wouldn't have half the money needed to buy a single basin, if there were even any available that I knew of.

Awesome litte guy you have there! I would, though, recommend against putting an ETB around your neck - be glad he did not strike you in the face while capable. :)

Yeah, we should have a Bites forum in Ssnakess.com so we can get tons of pics! Your emeralds are just beautiful! I got one last month and i plan to sex it and get it a future sexual partner in the next winter... they're just so beautiful... Actually, i dont think basins are as beautiful as the guyanas, my opinion, youve got wonderful snakes!
