Does anyone know anything about the infrared thermometer on sale at TEMPGUN.COM? For $25, is it worth it? They say it's accurate +/- 2%. What does that means in degrees? It's really tempting but I don't want a piece of garbage. :confused:

I have one, I think they are great. I rely soley on it as my way of telling my current temps in my cages. Keep in mind it only gives you the surface tempatures not the ambiant tempatures.

I just bought one, it arrived today. I haven't tried it out yet, but reading the directions is cracking me up:

"DO NOT SWALLOW OR EAT THE BATTERY. IF YOU DO, YOU'RE A DUMMY"

"CAUTIONS: Do not try and measure the temperature of your best friend's flatulence. That's just gross."

"CARE: Handle the Temp Gun carefully, do not drop it, especially into an active volcano. "

Or perhaps I'm just too easily amused.

2% means if what you mesure is 100F, it's between 98.0 and 102.0F
