He was eating well, going into his water bowl, coming out for playtime then this morning he was at the end of his log at the bottom of the cage and did not get up to eat, when I grabbed him he did not move much and was VERY cold....I placed him higher and closer to the light and left for work. Now I am so worried. My cousin thinks perhaps it got too cold in the house last night so I am going to get a under tank heater.....it IS cold today. I feel like such a bad Mommy.

Oh..he slept standing in the corner of the tank, on his tail. It was so weird!

I hope he will be ok. I am buying a heating pad after work so he wont get too cold at night.

What is your temps at night and day. Beardies can handle a drop into the high 50's low 60's.

Just give him/her time to "wake up" and move under the basking light.

I let my temps drop down to the low 60's and it usually takes around an hour or so until they are "up" and fully fuctional and ready to eat and fully bask.

If it drops any lower than that, then i personally would use a night bulb instead of a UTH.

I think it got really cold last night, not super cold, but cold...so I think I should get a heat thing for under the tank. Normally his lights come on at 7:00 am then I get up and feed at 8:00 and he is up and about and happy. Today he was at the bottom of the tank, not looking around and he was cold to the touch. I am so worried...I love him.

Amy,
Try getting a thermometer for your beardie's room. Pay close attention to what the temperatures are in the room, and in his tank. If you can, wake up in the middle of the night and check the temperatures, that way you will know exactly how cold it gets at night. I'd suggest a purple light bulb, they give off heat but not too much. Do not get a red light bulb though, beardies don't like those for some reason.

Keep us updated on your little guy, he's so cute!

Thank you so much! I will do the temperature thing. What kind of thermometer is good to use?

I got him from a breeder in pit meadows, he is a fade/jungle cross....
