Aussie Water pythons can reach very large sizes, up to 9 feet.
Their PNG relatives are smaller in size and tend to max out at about 4.5-6 feet. That may not sound like much but it is quite a bit when you take into account the girth of the Aussies. Some can weigh well over 20 lbs while the PNG animals are only around 5-6 lbs.

Yasser, Hit it pretty good about the size of the python.

I too owned a shop. And I never seen a fish grow to the size of their tank. It is one of the biggest myths of the fish world. Snake Heads are a great fish to look at. They get huge and eat everything. Put them in a 10 gallon as babies and feed them! They will out grow that 10 in a month if not less.

Lets go South American Ciclids. Your Oscars, Jacks, Red Devils. They get HUGE and no tank will stop them from growing. They are eating machines and grow fast.

Not putting down your folks at all here. But many shops will say this cause that is all they know. Then the person that bought the 10 gallon tank and the baby oscar comes back with a 6 to 7 inch oscar to get a new baby. And then the larger oscar is sold for more money........................Part of retail

You're looking at 8ft or so, as long as you keep it right. Once it does you're going to need a minimum 6'x2'x2' to house it properly.
