Transformers movie rumoured!!!

I am not sure how many people watched transformers in the mid 80's but there is a live action movie in the works based on 80's series NOT the new one. Still not a lot of info about it. But in my surfing around I found this completely unafilliated video and it has completely pacified my worries about the technical abilities to be able to make the transformers look real

Yeah, the VW movie has been around for a while :) It got coverage on CGChannel and some of the other CG news sites a couple of years ago.

They could probably pull it off for under 50 million dollars and still have great FX.

There's a movie I rented recently called "The Returner". It's dubbed, and pretty stupid, but it has two great CG sequences where airplanes transform into robotic creatures. Too bad it had the whole over-the-top kung fu movie style of acting.

Derrick: he wasn't saying that it was a movie promo or anything, just that if someone can do that, it shouldn't be hard to do it in a movie.

I work with some people who can do just amazing stuff with a copy of Lightwave and a few hours to play with.

I would not doubt that in the right hands we could see some kick-*** Transformers action :)
