Providing light when using a Rubber-Made cage

I was wondering how do you guys provide light for your ammys and emeralds when you keep them in a Rubber-Made tank... I'm going to switch my emerald to a bigger Rubber-Made, but what do you use to make day and night difference when using a cage with large sides??? Do you keep your emeralds in never-ending nights??? Do you only use ambiant room light?

for my leo's in a rubbermaid, i just cut out a hole in the top of the rubbermaid container and screwed in a piece of wire mesh and put the light on top of that and it works great.
