Hi all I have a Oceanic tank that I'm thinking of putting a snake, but I'm not sure what. Can you give me some ideas??? Thanx for your time. The tank is 24' x 18' x 24' lxwxh.

I think its pretty funny :D

But whats funnier is choosing a snake based on the fact that it'll fit in the tank you have...and not in a 'haha' way :/

Fish aren't that bad anyway...

i guess that was not much of a help was it lol...well i think the point here is keep tanks for fish and if you want to get a snake or get into snakes use rubbermaids or malemine cages. I use both rubbermaids and malemine cages and they work great for the snakes needs and for easy cleaning for us. Hope i helped you out a little. hope someone else can help you a little more and good luck.

Fish go in fish cages and snakes go in snake cages in other words Wizer?? What a novel idea!! LOL!

That is definitely the wrong way to go about choosing a snake...

Its like choosing a bride by whom will fit into a certain dress,

Research different snakes, after finding the ones you are interested in, see if you will be able to acquire the adequate equipment to house them, and not in the reverse order.

Another great example is building an amazing garage, and then trying to find a house near it for sale so that the two will work well together...

(Sorry for the ridiculous analogies! -- I'm in one of those moods)

What I would tell you is to do the following:

First, do some research on different boa species. Determine which snakes you like the best. Then ask yourself, can I care for this animal appropriately? For example, while some need heavy mistings three times daily, others simply need a source of fresh water. Ultimately, choose your favorite out of the snakes that you can afford for. Keep in mind that affording a snake is much more then the initial costs. Consider feeding, proper enclosures, proper supplies, and of course the dreaded vet visit in the event that your snake gets injured.
