.. at least by most. They are common for sure in parts of their range, but their fossorial habits keep them well hidden. I can never get a decent pic!

Great pic! I haven't seen them either but from the little I've read they sound like neat snakes.

Mathieu, I'd say he was around 12" long overall. They have a mild venom, but are harmless to humans--except for their very strong musk!
