a few minutes ago when i went upstairs to mist my chameleon's cages down, i noticed that my jackson was sleeping. he still had a good hour + before the lights go out. he gets 11.5 hours of dark, and 12.5 hours of light. he didnt show signs of stress or dehydration, and hes eating well. does anyone know why he went to sleep so early? was it jus that he might have been tired? thanks

Some chams do settle down early. My jacksons and panthers would head for their favourite sleeping branch about 90 minutes before lights out. They'd be awake, or at most just dozing off about an hour before dark. I always figured it's instinct - in the tropics it gets dark fast after sunset, there's not much time to find a good place to sleep once the sun is gone. The best thing is to find your spot early.
As long as he's awake and alert during the rest of the day, I wouldn't worry.

yeah, hes kind of active during the day. he'll jsut sit aorund on a branch, then go and walk around and eat a few crickets, then go to another spot and sit there, or climb up and down on this one plant. thanks a lot
