View Full Version : Here's my spilota pics.
oops that should of been "Here are my spilota pics"..
I'm in the process of buying a 4.0 mega pixel camera so I'll have a bunch of great shots (bless manual mode on cameras) soon.
Here's my first carpet, actually he turned 2 years old this month now that I think of it. I havnt measured or weighed him recently but he's around 51-54 inches and maybe 600 grams? (guessing on the weight, he's at least 600 i'd say.) This pic is a few months old. I may snap some low quality ones tonight (broke my old digital camera) and post them here.

Here's that low quality shot (done with my lil intel webcam thing)
You cant see his walnut colouring in this pic, but the next pic is a pretty good representation of his colouring.

Maybe I should hold onto the snake for you until you get your camera?? I'll give it back, honest.
:D
now here's that side pic i was talking about, you can see he's got a very clean crisp pattern.

What a cool looking snake! Great colors and pattern.
:-P jeff. hey is that rainbow boa in your avatar yours? wouldnt mind adding it to my collection either :-D
anyways, on to my other carpets... here's a big female JCP I have. she's about 4.5 years old, and 6 and a half feet of fury. She's my least tame carpet and is incredibly defensive. Alot of people ask about the hissing sound thier carpets make and if its normal...... i should record some of her hissing (its pretty loud).. anyways...
again with my low quality camera... kinda sucks bad actually lol.

female IJCP. 2 years. she's still pretty small. She took a while to get feeding at the store i bought her from but she feeds just fine now.

well there's my collection. I only have 2 more pics to post. one is of my whole setup, and the other is a great shot I got that I like to show off lol. I have ALOT more pictures. If you're interested, just let me know over MSN or something and we can trade. It's too much work for a lazy canadian like me to post all these pics..
here's my setup which has had some altering done to it since the time of this pic. I've got another table which holds a 10 gallon for feeding one of the smaller JCP's (they are housed together) and I've added a timer system i built myself using a set of relays and a cheap timer from home depot.

and here's a headshot of that male jcp coiled with the female. I have alot of good shots like this actually. enjoy.

Yeah, the Rainbow is mine. Perhaps I'll just look after both of the snakes for a while yeah.........
GREAT photos man, it was well worth the wait. That one young female from Don has great striping eh??
That big female sure is going to be tough to get the eggs from!!! HA ha, better you than me!
Awesome setups too!! I think everyone's Carpets here are very jealous!!
Thanks everybody... i like all the pics people post here too. and Jeff, her striping isnt complete.. I wish it was, but it's only about 3/4 of the body. The rest of her pattern's pretty crazy too eh.

No, they are...
Morelia spilota "harrisoni" or variegata (Irian Jaya)
and
Morelia spilots cheynei (Jungle)
*I* like to think they're variegata (and cheynei), and not harrisoni but lets not get into that again :p

Just wondering what size tank you keep your jungles in? and your first pic at the top, she looks just like my coastal r jungle, im not sure which she is but she's only 3 months, and nobody knows for sure. I'm not at home now so I can't post pics but i'll post some later tonight and I would like to hear some different opinions on what everyone thinks she might be. :)
Thanks, Kyle Walkinshaw-
That first pic at the top is of an Irian Jaya carpet.. and I think you would get a pretty quick response if you posted pics of yours, we're glad to help.
and my jungles.. I house a pair of 3-3.5 foot jungles in a 48x18x18 terrarium.. and a large 6 foot female in a 36x18x18.

Ok, Here's one of the pics of my either, jungle/or/coastal carpet python, approx. almost 4 months of age. Thanks for taking a look and tell me which you think it is, coastal or jungle. The more different opinions the better :)
Thanks,
