Vit C or citric acid

Which is dangerous to crested geckos? Just checking because ALL of the fruit baby food we are finding has Vit C in it. Thanks.

They need vitamin C, there's no way around that. Citric acid in itself isn't bad either, it's when they get too much that it MIGHT cause problems. The way around that is to avoid citrus fruit such as oranges, tangerines, lemons etc. Other fruit can have citrid acid in it naturally, don't worry about that. (Just as an observation, I've never heard of nor seen real proof that citrus fruit is dangerous to them, but I know mine don't really like it. Judging by what I've been able to dig up, the citric acid info could all be a myth, but for now I'll play along since it's not doing any harm to avoid it).

Okay thanks. That's what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. And since my sister lives in Florida and the geckos there eat the oranges, I was totally uncertain. We just got them so I didn't want to hurt them.
