I love all animals, although I've only kept garter snakes up until now. Well you know the would-be-thugs like to look cool by buying snakes and showing them off. They don't do any research on the snake. So now I have a 3 ft. long Burm. that he said was 9 months old. I'm just learning stuff about it myself. I showed the guy a picture of a 2 year old burm. and now I don't think he wants it anymore. He didn't know the snake needed water, and he arrived with a little mouse running around, and cedar chips that were wet in the bottom of a 50 gallon aquarium. Is he the size of a 9 month old ? He bit my son already, and has gotten loose when he left the cage unlocked. He's in my house somewhere and I have cats and a toddler ! I don't know how to tell if it's a he or she, and until I find it, I can't find it a good home. Does anybody know how I can lure him out so I can return him to his cage ?

Formerly know as the cat lady, people drop off all kinds of strays and I find them homes, but I wasn't ready for this! I live in Detroit, Michigan and I have 6 kids aged 18 mos.,11,13,17,18 and 22. Any advise would be appreciated.

Check around heat sources....its probably attracted to them...perhaps the coils of the fridge, even bathroom pipes, vents etc basically anywhere there is heat!
