Took in a Burm. who was being mistreated. It's supposed to be 9 mos. old and is 3 feet long. My son left the cage unlocked and now he is gone. His food is still there . My house is 2 story with a basement. The basement is cold. The fan was blasting in the only window that he could've gotten out of, but he's afraid of noise. I have 3 cats. Where would be the likely place for him to hide ? Would my cats go after such a large snake. He does bite. I'm looking all over the place. Would he most likely stay on the floor or climb? Would he even go in a basement that is cold ?
hmmm here are a bit of my trics that have helped me find a snake when it got lost.. In general I have found that burms don't tend to stray too far .. so i am taking a guess he would be still on the same level.
Almost every single time I have lost a snake they have ended up in my drawers .. u really gotta look for every nick and crany that he could fit in .. once it was inside my box spring! in a wall ..
LOl I left my snkaes loose in my room - always took me a bit too find them .. helps u understand where tehy go when u will loose them for real though.
I have found that my cat has helped me LOTS. If you follow them mine has often pointed me out in the right direction.. (there great to find loos rats too lol)
Except for that, best advise I can give is KEEP searching! You will find him soon enough
Take care
bud and best of luck

i find that sometimes if you stand next to the cage take a deep breath and slowly look around the room you can many times track them by noticing little things that may be slightly out of place or knocked over assess the room for these eregularities and folloe them from the tank untill you see where he may have gone eg, under a dresser, couch, chair, closet, etc. good hunting!
