well rite now i gave her a huge water dish with plenty of plants...so even when i walk by the tank she feels safe enough and she doesnt move...but if i try to touch her..thats a different story....she lunges ...she has already tagged me twice...im not touching her now...(not because im scared..but because i want her to feel real comfortable b4 i feed her)

I'm not trying to be negative, but are you sure this was a good choice? From what I remember aren't you only 14 or 15? Do you realize how IMMENSE this snake is going to get? Are you prepared to give it the proper environment? Also, why would you buy a WC Anaconda? Are you crazy man, lol? Not the smartest thing IMO.

im 16 by the way (still not a big difference from 14)...and i do relize how emence these things get......ive grown up with huge pythons all my life....i used to work in a reptile department... i always wanted a green....but i thought b4 i buy a green i should try yellows.....ive done that.....the only thing of concern is the housing...which ive already contacted my uncle who is a licenced carpenter(he has built large enclosures for me and others before)...and as for the wild cought...i know this may sound dumb..but i look at it as a challenge...although i would prefer a captive born....the snake is not to large to work with and as we speak it is under quarintine...ive been thinkin about this for awhile...and it wasnt an impulse buy...oh ya...and i do relize large burms and retics are nothing compared to a green:)
thnx for your concern
I bought a wild caught anaconda MANY years ago. It was the nastiest snake I'd ever seen. It was already 7' when I got it and the outcome was not good. Things have changed since the "old days" and yours is smaller so it may calm down in time. Anacondas are awesome snakes. Good luck with yours.

Hmmm... 16 years old, still living with the family I assume, bringing a wild caught snake that could conceivably hit 20 feet within 2 years that will likely NEVER calm down (sorry, but the WC's almost never do), and will cost a ton to properly house and feed.....
Adam, please don't blame us for thinking you made a VERY bad decision. I have no doubt that we will see this 'conda in the classifieds or worse yet, in a reptile rescue within the next 2 years.

Anaconda are beautiful snakes. But buying a wc snake with a nasty attitude, that can grow large enough to kill you (even when YOUR grown) in my opinion is not a very good idea. You are going to need up to 3-4 people to even handle it when it is fully grown, EVERY time you have to take it out.
I wish you the best of luck.

Adam, I'm not knocking you nor the fact the animal is WC, but weren't you just trying to sell a 4' female green anaconda amongst other things just the other day? What gives?

and im not the guy to just drop a snake off wen it gets to big, ive actually taken large snakes off people who need to get rid of it and found great homes for them. I recently found a wonderful home for a 10 foot burm with my uncle. i have an extreme love for anacondas in particular and i do plan on getting another green when space is permitted. I knew before getting the snake that the chances of selling it as an adult were very slim, and i had no intention of growing it and selling it.
sorry if i felt a bit offended
my 2 cents
