i want to know something.. i have a male for sale, and if i decide to advertise him online, how do i know i'll get my money if i send out the Gecko? if i ask someone to send out money first, then THEY are the ones wondering if they'll get a gecko. So what can i do? What do you all do? i have a brindle chocolte and rust colored male if anyone is interested....11 months old.

Money first, then ship the animals out...that how I always heard it done.

but i don't know how to convince someone to just send their money out to a stranger.. ya know? is there some kind of document you send them or something before they agree to send the money?

I never, under any circumstances, send animals without receiving payment first.

Typically, the individual that makes contact fulfills their end of the deal first.

In other words, if you have an ad posted for two geckos and I contact you wanting to buy them or trade for them, I would be the one who sends payment (money and/or trade animals) first because I was the one who made initial contact.

Theres many reputable people out there....if you're unsure you could always check the BOI.

I've bought geckos through the mail, depositing money directly into their bank account and then receiving the geckos once the payment was confirmed.

But that is, afterall, just one case.

Colleen, I buy stuff over the net all the time. Don't sweat it. People are used to having to pay before they get what they're buying...trust me, I know. :)

Oh BTW, Heather...your avatars just keep getting better and better. :) I can't decide if I like Rock Girl or the "Crabs" Bunny beter.

Hey now, give me credit where credit is due... >I< drew Heather in that picture! :| It's pretty lifelike actually... Kind of scares me.

(Heather DOES only have 6 fingers total... and you can only really see her nose at night... it's weird...)

Kate, the magnificent and great, drew my picture...cause she's awesome and I don't let anyone else draw me.

Just an idea, maybe we could get back on topic? The avatar discussion isn't all that bad, but it's kind of OT in this thread.

Back on topic.....:D

I think the bottom line is to wait until you receive the money before you send out any animals.

No one should have a problem with this, as this is how it works in most business transactions anyway. Someone who REFUSES to give you money first seems fishy to me, and its an indication to avoid the person.

If the person has any concerns with sending out their money they could just use the BOI or the inquiry forum here...they could also ask around, or read your posts. The posts you make are sometimes a great indicator of your credibility, in my opinion.

Good luck :)

lol... wow... anyway..

Yes, recieve payment before shipping the animal. I sold 3 leopard geckos, 2 african fat tail geckos and a bearded dragon online.

i do a lot of work on ebay and that's the way it works there as well, they send the money, then i send the product out, people online normally understand and if they don't then it is there loss IMO
