I have a gravid Albino california king that has shed on April 14. She's really bulky so there is no question as to her gravidity (if that's a word). I'm just wondering when I should start to get worried about her being egg bound, and if she is, is there any "home remedy" that people have tried to help her pass the eggs (I already heard about using a needle/syringe to draw out some of the contents of the first egg to be passed). BTW she does have an egg laying chamber available with vermiculite inside. Any help is greatly appreciated.

a friend of mine had a corn snake go 16 days after her pre-lay shed last season, not sure what the normal time span for kingsnakes is but if its similar to corns you might not need to worry yet.

12 days is not unheard of but it is on the upper end of what to expect. Watch her closely. She should lay anytime now...

Make sure her egg-laying box is adequate too. :)

It could be the egg laying box, one of my female corns will not lay unless the box is full to the brim with moss, then she burrows into it and makes a little nest.

Thanks for all your input. Luckily, it was just a false alarm. She laid 9 huge eggs yesterday.
