*** Thank-you Chris for your Help ***
[ignore the thread]

I have a female dwarf who is recovering from edema (and looks much MUCH better) which was caused by careless use of calcium powder on my part. She is approaching laying time and I was wondering if I should still supplement in moderation? She has not had any in some time as I was trying to get rid of the edema.

Please let me know.

Jason,

If i remember correctly, your female's edema is really vitamin related, not calcium. There are supplements for calcium and for vitamins. If she is producing eggs, she needs calcium, just continue to use vitamin supplements sparingly.

Its funny how many cases of edema are found lately - due to over supplementation as compared to lack of supplementation. I read one reliable source which suggested, with proper gutloaded crickets and a varied diet, the use of supplementations is not obligatory, and should not be used at all.
