WOW talk about not showing up for a game,
i dont know what it is about afternoon games and the leafs they just dont play well in the afternoon.
the next 2 games are gonna be really really nasty mark my words.
this series is gonna go 7 gamesand dont be surprised if the leafs win in 7 after this emabarrasing showing .
what is wrong with them that they cant get shots on net 2 in period 1, 6 in period 2 come on no wonder you got dominated leafs.

IM SO CERTAIN THAT THE LEAFS WILL WIN GAME 6 TONIGHT THAT I MADE 5 BETS TOTALLING $31
HERE THEY ARE LEAFS BY 1 GOAL ,LEAFS BY 2 GOALS,LEAFS BY 3 GOALS,LEAFS BY 4 GOALS,LEAFS BY 5 GOALS,
so as long as they win i win in the worst case i will make min $5
and should philly pull off the upset then i loose $31
how ever we all know its not gonna happen and we are going to 7 and the leafs will win that too ..... even DON CHERRY said so and we know he is a hockey god.

I am confident that the leafs will win this series. I think they are an overall better team when they put in the effort, and I do not think they will allow Philly to knock them out of the playoffs two years in a row, especially after the embarassment of the other night.
The only other thing I have to comment on is the extent of patheticness (is that a word? lol) of the leaf fans at the stadium. If only we had fans like Philly - maybe the team would do a little better. I was incredibly impressed on the show of the flier fans last game, aside from throwing things onto the ice. Leaf fans on the other hand - they are pathetic for the most part. You would think, for example, everytime Sundin touches a puck they would go CRAZY. It even seems like they boo at the leafs sometimes. If we are down a bit, they are dead silent until we catch up, if we ever do. I just think its pathetic sometimes - if only I could afford a ticket :).
On another side note, I cannot STAND the moron commentators for these games, on CBC. Every second, the guy is putting down the leafs in some shape way or form, whether they are winning or not. It is clear he is:
a.) A dedicated anti-maple leafs individual.
b.) A damn good leaf fan who is trying to hide the fact that he likes the leafs, and is overdoing it - big time.
Just his ridiculous comments, they piss me of every game, throughout the entire game. As if I was not pissed off enough at the performance of the leafs that last game, I had to listen to all the balogny he was saying.
However, I am not sweating the loss. Belfour had a really bad game, and no matter how little support he got, I firmly believe a few of those goals he should of saved. Maybe I am just saying that out of expectation through his past performances, but damn was I ever disappointed. A few of Primeau's goals were garbage that Belfour fell for - and whats up with Mcabe? He was -5, I don't know why they continued to play him, and I also think they should have pulled Belfour after four goals, not six. But again, the game is in the past, and I look forward to tonights game.
GO LEAFS GO
On a final side note, who agrees with me that the leafs need to keep putting the big guys, like Belak, out on the ice? I mean look what happened when the whole team was hitting hard. They dominated the ice physically, and came out with a big win.

Gino I dont know what you are watching...
Harry Neal is so pro leaf it makes me sick and I'm a leaf fan. He just bitches about them because he wants them to win.
You are saying leafs fan boo..... check out the philly fans once philly makes a few mistakes.

but I do agree with you about the tough guys
Personally I think Perrot should be playing in this series the only problem is who do you sit to put the tough guys in.
Harry Neale is a die hard Leafs fan, hence the reason he has shows on Leafs TV.. Bob Cole on the other hand.. He can't stand Toronto and doesn't want to see them win..
Air Canada Center.. Since the first game Toronto played in the ACC people have been knocking how quiet it is.. Unless you have actually been there for a game, you really don't understand how HORRIBLE the Live audio feed is from there.. I haven't personally been to a Playoff game there as of yet, however my Cousin was at game 2 against Ottawa and said he couldn't even hear his son talking to him and they were sitting side by side.. I have also heard Andy Frost (ACC Announcer) comment that the level of cheering and such is equal to or greater then Philly and Buffalo.. Unfortunatly you just can't tell because of the way the audio feed is set up.. It's too bad, cause i would really love to hear just how loud it is..
David: I agree 100% about Belak and the likes.. Game 3 and 4 Belak played 11+ minutes and they won both games.. Game 5, Belak played 7 minutes and wasn't even noticable out there.. Look for Karel Pilar to catch Primeau, Roenick and LeClair coming down the ice with their heads down.. Philly doesn't only have to worry about Marchment anymore!!! GO LEAFS GO

The problem with the ACC is that the real fans that want to go cant because you have to sell your house to watch them play, and the people who are there are stuffy rich high society types that are there for social reasons not the game it self.
the toronto rock fans are rowdy as hell so why are the leaf fans not?

Not sure if you noticed, but last game in Toronto (4) behind BOTH benches were people ALL wearing Leaf Jerseys.. It's loud in there, there's no question. And i understand the Rock Fans are loud and rowdy, but you can barely hear them on TV aswell.

I guess that makes sense, not being able to hear the crowd that is. However, the fact still remains that they boo when the leafs have the puck sometimes, I don't get it?

hate to say it but how can a team that is on the verge of elimination come out so flat
the leafs didnt deserve to win , they didnt show up till the last 2 mins of the 2nd period

tampa is gonna take out philly no doubt in my mind

:(....im so depressed
All I have to say is wow. What a game, Detroit losing doesn't feel that bad now. The hit by Tucker has to be the best hit in the playoffs maybe even the season. Kapanen looked like a newborn kitten.

Renbergs contract is up and won't be resigned.. Antropov will never be traded, i think he has some photos of Quinn or something.. Berg played well the whole playoffs, Kaberle should be taken off the Defence and put to Center or left wing.. He would make one hell of a forward. If they get rid of Kaberle, i will not watch them anymore.. All too often the Leafs trade away players that aren't 'up to par' and look what happens.. McCauley, Johnsson, Markov, Hendrikson, Mair and countless others..
Quinn HAS to come back, he's the best coach they have ever had.. They had a great season, it's unfortunate it had to come to an end on an odd man rush and missed highsticking call.. Notice Sundin bleeding at the end of the game like a stuck pig??
Tampa in 5..
Calgary in 6..
Its amazing....the leafs just seem to never really want it until they are down and have to come scraping back. What a shot by Roenick though. I hate that guy but damn it was a clean goal.
In regards to who to get rid of Id say...Antropov "the human salami"....Renberg....and maybe Berg but he played decent. Its gonna be interesting to see what the Leafs will look like next year if they play. I say mix the young with the old next time and they do much better.

Just finished watching Ken Hitchcock's press conference and he's calling the hit a 'head shot'.. From every angle i saw the hit, it looked clean.. Kapanen should know better then to come down the boards with his head down..

Hey, i NEVER hate the leafs, i just get really really really upset with them...lol...and yell things
Yes, i remember 93.. But you have too look stats wise.. Leafs have had consecutive 90 pt seasons with Quinn.. Okay, maybe not the BEST.. But damn close.. I must admit, Burns was a hell of a coach for them too.. But record wise, i have to give the edge to Quinn.. Now if only Quinn would get off the Antropov Band Wagon.. Unfortunatly Francis retired tonight and no one even knew..
I yell things too, but the words 'hate' and 'leafs' will never be used in a sentence by me :D

Leafs have sucked for the last 35 years and they still suck! As soon as the stupid Toronto fans stop supporting this pathetic team maybe they will do something about it! Why spend more money on the team when they sell out every game as it is? It's really quite demoralizing. Just my opinion.
i'm only posting here because i think this may be a valid point....the team members change, also, some players improve while some withdraw...I root for Toronto cause I'm from T.O. but I don't think other teams are crap because of this...thats just silly....in terms of team effort (which is really what counts)I truly believe that morale has alot more to do with it than talent...

Right on Matt, I was the only one at my buddys place tonight who didn't take off their Leafs jersey after the game. Ya it sucks @$$ but there's still plenty of years of hockey to go, and they gotta win eventually :)
Kyle~
Its gonna be interesting to see what happens for sure. There was a good list of the free agents and those signed to contracts in the Globe and Mail this morning. Lets just hope we can re-sign Eddie, Roberts, and Tucker for sure. Eventually the Leafs will win again...it all depends on when Ferguson decides to take other peoples advice.

Let's not forget about Nieuwendyk. I believe he only signed on for one year with the thought of retiring after this season.. When asked yesterday, he said he enjoyed playing for TO and would love to stay, if there's a season.. If there is hockey next year, they'll have a good base to build on, let's just hope they build.. I think it's obvious Ferguson wants to win, and so far, he's not made any bad moves.. Unless you consider not trading Antropov at the deadline a bad move.. LOL..
