Hey, these ones don't seem to have the google eye thing going on :)
The ones we saw at the show had the eyes that stuck out from the body considerably.
My girlfriend has her heart set on getting a leucistic TRS now :) (which will make it easier for me to get more snakes, woot)
Who has more?!?! :D
We got ours from Jeff Favelle. My husband had one years ago that died in a house fire and has wanted another ever since. The buggy eyed thing is not a good thing, I'm not the herper in the house but I believe it has something to do with major inbreeding, someone correct me if I'm wrong pls. hubby's at work. Anyways yeah they are beatiful creatures, first time dealing with Jeff and couldn't have been more impressed.
That second shot is just awesome! Great photo!

I was wondering about that. I'd skimmed something referring to the bugged out eyes once before and couldn't remember what was said. Didn't think it was a good thing though.
Hey Jeff, got any more? :)
How about you Simon? :)

Sorry Mike, the only colubrids I have now are the Hondos. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you though. Beth Wallbank has some great stock. She's in Mission, BC.
Nope
I don't have any either~
Just trying to slim down collectino to corns, asian rats, albino rosy boas, brbs, and the royal diadems~ (I think that's it....oh...wait~ and the spotted pythons and children's python) that should be it.......ah.....wait...one more....albino emory rats...yeah that should be it....)
But if I see any LTR I'll let you know about it.
They're not that rare and are beautiful snakes~~

Yes the bug eyes on the leucistic texas rat snakes is a deformation. But not all of them have it. My friend has a pair that have the normal eyes. Yet I saw some for sale with the bug eyes. It was caused by all the inbreeding. While on other types of snakes it could be a disease.
The balck texas rat snake is turning out to be the same problem (seems more of a cross betwen 2 snakes that causes the one on the black ones).
A trans-pecos rat snake has bug eyes naturally. One of the few snakes to have this characteristic.

I am currently working with LTRs & with any luck I'll get eggs this year. It is the first year for both snakes so we will see how it goes. I'll let y'all know what happens. Mark
what happened to my pics? They were there yesterday, and now there is a red x instead.
