Elvira, our female albino burmese python laid 40 eggs today. They all look great, but one is small.
Had to settle for fine vermiculite, my mother was in the city today looking for large vermiculite - which she did not find. I'm not sure why we can't seem to find the coarse stuff - and I thought I had some back up.
The father is Apollo, our patternless albino, so all the babies will be het for patternless albinos.
Corey Woods gave me a lot of guidance with this breeding (Thanks!), and when I told him Elvira's approximate size (this was her first time breeding), he guessed 40 eggs at 28 days after POS. It was 27 days since we found the shed, so I gues he was pretty close.
I'm watching the incubator, and bringing the temp up just slightly as it dropped while we were getting the eggs in the Rubbermaids - and we had to switch to a taller rubbermade for a group that were all attatched.
Sorry I don't have any pictures, I really missed my camera today :(
Glad they are in the incubator before we have to leave for TARAS., otherwise I'd have spent the whole show wishing I was at home :)
