You dont need to do anything. 55% humidity is fine, but its when they are in shed that you need to bump the humidity up to about 80%. Are you housing them in the same tank?

Ball Pythons by nature don't soak in standing bodies of water. Its all about where they live. Niches and micro-niches are the heart of snake husbandry.
Let me guess, your snake is in a fish aquarium with a screen top?
Also, Ball Pythons are not from tropical rainforests. They don't get "daily" rainfall. Not at all.

Jeff-
You are bringing up something that has been plaguing me in my reading up in prep for buying a ball. From what i can determine they are from a pretty dry part of Africa, but some of the care sheets I have seen suggest that the RH in the tank should be 70- 80%.
Is 55% a good standard for the ball?

Microhabitat. Its why there are so many species and subspecies of animals. Differences in the living conditions result in differences in the phenotypes to EXPLOIT those conditions. Hot and dry in North western Africa. Yes, it is. But is it hot and dry under water in northern Africa? Is it hot and dry in the ocean in northern Africa? Nope. Those are two different habitats within a CLIMATE. Ball Pythons are from a CLIMATE that's hot and dry. But their niche is far from that.
More like warm and humid. A knowledge of there living style would explain that. They like to go underground. LOTS. Don't you think that would change the conditions in which they live? And then don't you think that should change the conditions in which we keep them?
We're getting there.......

I've never found the need to increase humidity during a shed. All my balls shed fine at 50% humidity.

i think your humidity is fine..... when they shed all I do is move over their water dish so it's on the heat and give them a humid hide and it seems to be perfect!
I only resort to misting/soaking if they are having troubled sheds or retained eyecaps.
