Hey everyone, :)
What do you consider must have books for hot keepers?
Either because they display the beautiful variety of the venomous world, natural history, husbandry or just excellent reads. What are your favourites? And why? :)

Thats a great list, the ones I hadn't heard of I looked up on amazon, such fantastic books. :) I'm really looking forward to purchasing The Venomous Reptiles of the Western Hemisphere in a little bit. :)
Now hopefully someone else can add to the great titles above. :)

Another option for fantastic info that you can't get anywhere else is published herpetology/toxinology papers. There are a couple of ways to obtain these:
1) Subscribe to a journal such as Toxicon,etc... (can be expensive)
2) If you are affiliated with a University (Student, faculty, etc..) you can get photocopies of the journals that they subscribe to or print papers from online journals.
3) Write/e-mail directly to the person who published the paper you seek.
4) Some researchers have .pdf files available to download via their internet website, etc..
Most researchers will be glad to supply you with a copy of their published papers......if more people have access to their work this raises the chance of someone else citing their work.....
publish or perish, get cited in others publications, get your work recognized and validated by others....get circulated....this is the name of the game in academic life.....

Most old heads will have a copy of it somewhere. I have the entire thing in PDF form. I will be glad to email it to you, but you will have to find and email server big enough to transfer it. It’s over 3 megs. Hotmail, yahoo, or any of the other free servers can not handle it. I can email it from my office, so find me an address to send it to and email me at HurSam@CovenantTransport.com
I have learned a lot from Dr. Fry's site
http://www.venomdoc.com/
It is an awesome site with tons of info on venom!
