Hello everyone!

Well, since im just a 14 y/o, I dont have to pay any living fees, and im starting a business, so i expect money to start rolling in soon. Well i expect about $10,000 by december and maybe some christmas presents, top that with a little extra cash. My first purchases with that money will be a pair of Womas from Bob Clark or possibly a producer in Canada if I can find any(Howdy Jeff! Might you have any next year?). After that, I will look for a suitable pair of Angolan's, and if I can afford them, I will buy them. After that, I will be purchasing a pair of Papuan Pythons. If I dont have enough money for the Angolan's, I'm going to go straight to buying the papuans and a male for my female blood. I may also consider getting a pair of het albino boas or an Emmy.

Dont worry, I already know about the housing and care requirements of all of those animals and will be getting custom cages built for each individual. This will be happening over the course of a year or more. Since my business will be breeding feeders i can assure myself a constant supply of feeders for my animals.

Anyways, I always want more information on the animals and hands on experience from the owners of these types of animals. So I always want more information and even if i have heard if before, it just helps to drill it into my head(however im a spunge and absorb any information I want to). Thanks! I really cant wait!

Why would you get womas before Angolans! Ok I guess you didn't read my last post lol! In all seriousness though, is it because you like them better? In my opinion I would reccommend Angolans first! Don is the only other person who has them right now but I know of 7 or 8 people (off the top of my head) in Canada who have womas. Most of them are well known breeders who will be hard to compete with in sales as well. Just something to think about.

Haha, Yah I just read your last few posts! Well its more of a money issue, but hey, I may end up getting angolans before womas. I actually dont preffer one over the other. I love them both! I am not going to be trying to compete in sales with them, only I love the snakes and I would love to breed them for the experience. Haha, who knows, I may be lucky(1 in a trillion chance) and hatch out an albino of either! LOL. That would be awesome!

Unfortunatley that won't be happening anytime soon (Albino Womas). Unless you go to Australia and smuggle some. (not reccommended) I do think Womas are an asset for sure!!! They are excellent pets! A little wierd with that crazy eerie death stare/smile they have. LOL If we don't sell our other pair we'll be okay with that! I just like Angolans better :D

Angolan Pythons.

Alecia:

I meant that by fluke, if i hatched some out! LOL. Not that i got some. I know it has happened. Not with this species but yah. Lol. I bet they'd be worth $100, 000 each(an albino) and $75, 000 for a 100% het. Haha I'll stop dreaming!

10G by December works out to profits of approx. $1,500 a month until then. You would have to be selling appox. 5000 rodents+ a month to do this. the # of rodents produced monthly to do this would probably be around 10,000? as they have to be grown to the various stages of course. You have very high hopes, but they aren't going to be easily obtained. Good Luck & don't count your "Chickens before they hatch". Not only will you have to produce them, but ya have to market them also. Hate to be a "Killjoy" but "Reality Check" Good Luck with your Venture & be sure to let us all know how things work out once you start producing.

As far as Womas go out West here you can check with Don Patterson, Henry Piorun, Jeff Favelle & myself. Maybe Ryan & Katie (Nathan & Alecia ?) next year also? We are all working with them anyhow & I'm sure there will be lots of fingers crossed for next season LOL.

P.S. Good Luck on your mice breeding mission Chris!

you probably wont see a profit off your rats until december remember your going to have to buy cages, supplies and food for all these rats and find customers so you may in the end see a profit but not any time soon

Hey,

Yes, i totally go my "reality check" going. LOL. Actually, I've got my numbers all counted up and I wont be breeding just mice, top the mice with rabbits, gerbils(only a couple pairs), crikets, superworms, waxworms. Probably going to have beautiful prices too. Prices that would make you drool. Even still making a profit for myself. Anyways, that number of 10G by december is just an estimate as im not sure if there will be any bumps and bruises or if those have passed now. Should all go well and I've got my Dad for couceling and hes gonna be helping me build a seperate building for the mamals. Anyways, its just an estimate and I know not to get my hopes up but for the moment, I can dream right? LOL! Thanks!

Chris

Lol, you replied before I did, actually no rats, mice and rabbits and a couple gerbil pairs(and superworms, crickets, waxworms). And i definetly have factored in the costs but i dont have to completely re-imburse my father as he is going to be using the building once im into a new one.

Sounds good Chris. Like I said not trying to be a Killjoy, but would like to see you meet the goals you set rather than be disappointed by setting them too high. Sounds like you are setting them high but there is nothing wrong with that as long as you realize things always work better in theory LOL Good to hear your Dad is going to help out . Again Good Luck Mark

Thanks! O I would rather have you be a Killjoy than say "O yah Chris its going to happen next month dont worry your cool!". That would be just horrible. I've had a ton of people say o yah your nuts and stuff like that for other things then i realized my hopes and i should wait till i get the goal, however i am quite confidant of what im doing and have all my plans made. My Dad is mostly just building the shed and throwing points at me that I didnt think of, O and definetly loaning me a few hundred(ok maybe a G), to get started, but it still helps. Anyways I can just hope it goes well. I actually expect that buying to take place over the course of a year, and I also want to start a 110G saltwater tank eventually but before I think about anything let me get started with my mice! LOL. Im also planning on purchasing a classified section with my price list on it and how I will operate in terms of sales and shipping. Anyways, I gotta go humor my mom and brush my teeth and shut up!:D Goodnight all! Haha. Thanks.
