Have worked with both blacktails and yellowtails. Great snakes,but very high maintenance. Need very large cages as they are very active and they are eating machines,ipso facto they are also defecating machines. Cage surfaces need to be very non abrasive as they are notorious for rubbing their noses,especially if they are stressed. Use a low maintenance substrate, newspaper worked best for me. I too have thought about them before, but they do require larger homes & yes they are crapping machines LOL I'll stick to the Indigos for now as they are similar & I already have them. Large colubrids = many large poops DOH! LOL Mark
