More specifically bullfrogs.
I want a good humane way of killing bullfrogs for feeders, without bashing them. I havnt been a big fan of freezing, but because they sorta freeze in the winter to go into hibernation i was thinking it would be a decent way. Ya/no?

Have you thought of co2 before? I never killed frogs for feeders, but I think co2 would work fine for you.

Just a question, doesn't amphibians skin absorb things? So wouldn't the skin retain the co2 used?

CO2 is non-toxic so even if it was absorbed, it wouldn't be a problem for the snake (or whatever). It works by suffocating, not "poisoning" ;)

What are you feeding the frogs to, and what size frogs? When I used frogs (grey tree frogs) to feed Thamnophis, I feed them live. I do not think a frog will do much damage if any at all. Of course, kinda depends on some stuff too....

thanks. Well i dont really have too much of a problem with live, its more the lack of supply in the winter.
lizards, couple snakes, and hopefully some bugs im hoping on getting is what they are for. Plus the birds here LOVE them....
as for sizes, from tadpole to 6"+
Frogs tend to hold their breath along time so co2 won't work. as far as I know freezing is humane and painless for amphibians.
