Hey everybody my girlfriend just got me a little pacman frog. Its about 2 inches long. The pet store guy said that they can just stay in a little bit of water. They kept it a cup with a half inch of water. I plan to get some kind of substrate later today. I have the little guy in a five gallon tank right now. They also told us that they only need to be fed once a week and to feed it pinkies. The day that she got it they just fed it one. I've gone back through the boards and looked. I know you're suppose to feed it a bunch of different things, but it seems like everyone has a different idea of what to feed it. What are you suppose to feed it? How often are you suppose to feed it?

I personally won't feed mine mice. It has been associated with fatty liver disease. I am currently feeding my little guy once a day, 2 or 3 crix or 1 silk worm etc. When he's near full grown I will feed the same amount, just every two or three days. If you read through the forums, you can get a better idea as to what others are feeding. Read Marissa's thread, a couple down from this one. There's some discussion about it there. Good luck.

Personally, I have a total of only 4 ...however probably closer to 100 by augest ... anyways, I have always tried to mix the diet. Yes mice have been associated with liver disease, however, now and then has never been a problem. I also feed mine (depending on size) crix, freshly shed superworms, waxworms, silkworms, and vitamin coated goldfish. variety is the key. In the wild they are know to try to eat anything. Many horses are known to be attacked on the mouth when foraging. A lot of people say that small diets are the key, however, they are well adapted to eating large diets now and then. they have very large elastic stomachs (compared to body size). Best of Luck. And one word of advice, if you feed large goldfish, make sure they are very "flippy".. its kinda funny, but sad, when you see your frog sitting there and its stomach is bouncing around ..lol... Take care
