Best hatchling rack tub size?

just wondering what people use for hatchling Ball Python rack tubs.. I imagine they are some kind of shoe box RubberMaid type container, but what dimensions would be best? I have some at home that I think will do the trick, but would like to get some input before I start construction..

5.83L Rubbermaid ($1.83 @ WalMart), then after 2-4 months, move them to the 11.4L Rubbermaids ($3.93 @WalMart).
