Well Im gonna attempt another feeding this saturday to see if my 7 month male BP will eat, as most of you here know his last meal was March 14th. Any way to get to the point, I plan on offering a small F/T mouse followed by a small F/T rat should he take the mouse. If he doesnt take the mouse Ill probably leave it in overnight but the rat Id like to re-freeze if at all possible. Is re-freezing risky?

I do it some times, only if the rat is in good condition

I wouldn't refreeze anything that has been thawed for more than an hour or so. If it is left in overnight and they don't eat, I just toss it.

Yeah, anything over an hour or two is best disposed of.

I wanted to have the rat on standby just in case he took his mouse, but if he didnt (wich is the most likely scenario) I was thinking of refreezing after say 10 minutes of his not eating his mouse. But better safe than sorry I guess right?

I would not refreeze anything once it's been thawed. Would you eat a steak that been frozen, thawed and then refrozen? Kinda gross.

Refreezing is fine. Ive done it meny times and the snakes never act differently.
Mykee I bet youv'e eaten more refrozen stakes than you'll ever know.

That is disgusting. I personally NEVER refreeze.

But if you do refreeze, the snake might have a better feeding response to a frozen thawed, refrozen and thawed rat because the smell (and I am sure they do use a bit of smell) is stronger.

Piers, I've probably swallowed way too many bugs in my sleep, doesn't mean it's acceptable...BTW, never eaten a stake of any kind, I don't care what you've heard...

I don't re-freeze but I don't really see a problem with it as long as it hasn't been out for very long.
