Male '01. Came out of brumation a couple weeks ago....looking good and looking for a lady friend! :) Just around 4 feet long and a total gentlemen! :D

Female '03, about to go into shed but normally she is a beautiful black and white. Right at two feet and quite enraged that we took her out in blue, but normally she will only crap on us nowadays.

Female '03 just shed recently. Not a huge fan of yellows/browns but I love her spot pattern and she is getting pretty easy to handle. Just around 2 feet.

Gorgeous trio Marisa - I love the last female - sort of like Morse code with all those dots and dashes! The male has retained such clear white bands - very nice.

I do agree - Cal Kings are great snakes - just because they are common doesn't mean they aren't fantastic.

Sweet Marisa! :D They all look great -- I love your male, what a handsome guy! Love those black & whites... both the girls are gorgeous too... very cool pattern on the bottom girl... get that into a black & white, and I'll be all over the babies! LOL...

I wish more of you guys lived here in BC so we could avoid shipping... I hope every single one of you makes it out to the herp show on July 4 in Abbotsford :)

Thanks guys. I am a very big fan of a desert phase Cal kings. Something about that jet black and white.

The first kingsnake I ever caught was a California Mountain king so you'd think I'd be fond of those guys but the black and white gets me. I am going to pick up a female hopefully just like the male as well.

You can get kings much cheaper than that YCM. Look around for breeders. I would only pay that much if it was an adult.

I'm seriously thinking about getting some more kings, especially some beauties like above.

Guys stop talking about beautiful kingsnakes RIGHT NOW!!! The next Ontario show is only a mere TWO DAYS after my birthday and I will be trying to come out of it new snake-less but with all this kingsnake talk I may fail miserablly!!!!

YCM $125 is high, sounds like a petstore for sure. Even most of the petstores I deal with sell them for $100 or less. Around $80-$100 is a not bad petstore type price for a healthy feeding (dead/thawed prey) animal of the size mentioned. Breeder price for the same thing would be $40-$80 depending breeder & specimen. "True" 50/50s or "high whites" are worth more & Deserts are worth more than Coastals. A "true" 50/50 will be just that a Banded that has at least 50%+ white bands & high whites having at least 70%+ white over black. People have a habit of calling everthing thats banded 50/50 & this is not right. They are just fishing for extra coin or don't understand what it means.

Marisa nice high contrast kings. They should make you some nice babies. My very first snake in Sept 99 was a CK from Henry P. in BC. I've had 100's of just CKs since LOL. I'm actually pretty proud that I'm down to like 70 snakes. Well until all the eggs are hatched anyhow Heh heh Good Luck with yours & yes watch out they are addictive & have a habit of reproducing for you too. Mark

Marisa,
Admit your weakness and go for the gusto. :) I have succumbed to the fact I won't be coming home empty handed. Did I mention how beautiful Kingsnakes are? ;)

Cheers

Also dont get confused with desert king snakes, and desert PHASE cal kings,
theu are to different sub species;)
