beautiful boas Jeff.. Just out curiosity, how old are those boa's?? I just want to use your pics as somewhat of a size reference for my boa's.. (I understand, growth rates depend on feeding, living conditions etc). Just an approximate size they should be at.
thanks
steve
Wowsa! :bugout: If you never said anything, I wouldn't believe they were the same snakes!

They are a year and a bit. I have actually slowed down feeding over the winter months. They will pack on some serious weight through spring and summer. I won't push them to breed this fall though. I'm in no rush. If they go in 2005 or 2006, that's good enough! :D
Thanks guys,
Jeff F
Wow man, you were'nt kidding when you said they were getting big.. You wouldn't happen to have any belly shots of them would you?? Just to compare to my female...

Hey kids,
Those are impressively large animals for a year and a bit. Actually, looking at them made me a little paranoid about the size of my bcc. At what I would estimate to be the age of 1 year and three months or so, he's still only about 36-38 inches and his girth, well, I don't have the numbers, but he looks like an Ethiopian compared to those bcis. I would say less than half of their girth. Do those numbers sound off to you guys? I've had him on smallish-mediumish rats for about three months now on a weekly basis. No other problems with him at all. I know all snakes are different, but...

Keep in mind, those Bci's JUST ate like 20 minutes prior to the photos.
3 feet for a 1.5 year old Bcc is just fine. I wouldn't worry. Slow and steady wins the race! :D
Simon, they are het albino females.

Ok what does the belly have to do with anything? Can you tell its a het by the belly?
don;t think it has anything to do with it.. These ones just have a lot of speckling on them and my female is LOADED with it on her belly, wanted to compare it to Jeffs. :)
